Veritas Press A Resource for Christian Educational Materials

Veritas Press provides classical Christian educational materials to homeschoolers and other educators seeking a Bible-based curriculum. The founders of Veritas Press were inspired to start a Christian Classical School after reading Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning, by Douglas Wilson. Veritas Press decided to form a curriculum that incorporated biblical events into a historical chronology. The biblical history card program they created 10 years ago has grown steadily since its inception. In fact, Practical Homeschooling Magazine awarded the Veritas Press History Curriculum the blue ribbon for best history program. R.C. Sproul Jr. is a former instructor of the award-winning curriculum, which he taught in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, from 2009 to 2010.

The catalog consists exclusively of books and other educational products that Veritas Press uses and recommends. Teachers like R.C. Sproul Jr., who still homeschools his eight children, can choose from a range of subjects designed for students between kindergarten and 12th grade, including aesthetics, science, the Bible, mathematics, history, grammar, and much more.

The Veritas Press Scholars Academy provides instruction in Latin; logic; rhetoric; and the Omnibus, which covers history, theology, and literature. Veritas Press Scholars Academy classes use Wimba Classroom technology, which offers students in online courses a live-classroom experience. Teachers and students have microphones, which the instructor can mute and unmute. Students can communicate with the instructor and with each other via microphone or written chat. The software’s hand-raising feature alerts the teacher when a student has a question or comment that he or she would like to share.
